DESTRUCTO To Release ‘Technology’ His Debut EP April 9
By MSO PR
Los Angeles producer and DJ, DESTRUCTO has cultivated an incendiary live set that merges heavy metal bombast and propulsive, potent techno. It's unlike anything out there, and he takes it into the studio for TECHNOLOGY, his debut EP due out April 9 on Boys Noize’s emerging talent brand BNR TRAX.
The title track “Technology” is the calling card of DESTRUCTO’s globe-trotting live performances. Drawing on the groove/build/explode dynamic he developed on his national tours with Crystal Castles and Rusko, “Technology” has been in heavy rotation on Sirius XM and found its way into Boys Noize and A-Trak's festival sets. DESTRUCTO is particularly excited to unleash the “Technology” music video, a titillating narrative film developed by director Agata Alexander, whose photography is also featured in the cover art.
Listen to “LA Funky” featuring OLIVER (as featured in the epic HOLY SHIP! mini-film) right now on Holyship.com. Like its namesake Los Angeles, the track seamlessly melds the techno sounds of Detroit, Chicago, Berlin and Ibiza into one perfect, year-round dance party. On “Stand Still,” discerning fans can also sense the influence of rising stars OLIVER, who co-produced the EP. Within its propulsive groove, a harmonically processed voice dares you to "stand still."
DESTRUCTO explains, "We wrote this one specifically to open my sets. A lot of my vibe comes from rock, funk, and even metal, but when I'm on stage as a DJ my job is get you to dance and have a good time, and the first track of the night is the one that really has to get the knees and elbows moving."
Rounding out the record are contributions from BNR TRAX labelmates Jan Driver and BS1, who respectively take on “Technology” and “LA Funky.” Jan Driver is Boys Noize's secret weapon, a producer and mastering engineer extraordinaire who takes the title track into gritty mental mash-up territory. BS1 provide a skilled re-work of “LA Funky.”

About DESTRUCTO: The Los Angeles-based DJ began building his legacy with “The Sermon.” Donning a priest outfit, he'd host the 6 a.m. weekly party after the warehouses had died down early Sunday morning. He went on to organize the now legendary “Magical Mickey's Holy Water Adventure” at Wild Rivers in 1991 and “Raveamerica” on New Year's Eve at Knott's Berry Farm in 1992, while diving into an A&R gig as Rick Rubin's Techno Boy at Def American Recordings. Simultaneously, he released his first track “Rain Dance” in 1994 complete with Indian chants and a Gumby sample. Furthering his success as a DJ and promoter, he launched multiple L.A. hotspots such as The Downtown Standard at night, while breaking new acts like God Lives Underwater and Basement Jaxx by day. As the music industry continued to change at the turn of the century, DESTRUCTO returned to his roots launching the very first HARD Festival in 2007. In the past year alone, DESTRUCTO has rocked crowds alongside Rusko, Diplo, The Bloody Beetroots and Fatboy Slim as well as performed at international festivals WEMF and Australia’s Stereosonic. To kick off the New Year, he helmed the inaugural and epic HOLY SHIP!, which set sail from Florida to The Bahamas and back.
